Focusing on wars that rage in the Arab world, and specifically Iraq, he raises questions about what the region has to say about the environment today—and how contemporary artists have addressed these grave issues. He brings together works by several international artists in dialogue with each other, in order to capture the far-reaching consequences and multifaceted nature of conflict, as well as its often imperceptible but devastating impact on human lives and the landscapes we collectively inhabit.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
