Daniel Faria from the Daniel Faria Gallery

Danial Faria gallery installation
Daniel Faria will discuss the professional gallery system within Canada – in particular within the Toronto art scene.  He will tell his story about how he went from being an Undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo to owning and running one of the hottest professional galleries in Toronto.

Daniel Faria received a B.A in Art History from the University of Waterloo in 1999 and an M.A. in Art History from York University in 2003. He has worked at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery and interned at Mercer Union. He went on to become director and partner in Monte Clark Gallery in Toronto before opening his own gallery, Daniel Faria Gallery, Toronto in 2011. The gallery focuses on Canadian artists, living in Canada or abroad, with international attention.

The talks are generously supported by the Faculty of Arts and BMO Financial Group.
