Student Art Innovation Lab (S.A.I.L.)

Waterloo Arts (UW) is pleased to offer a new community outreach program that not only stimulates youth engagement in the arts, but also provides exceptional experiential learning opportunities for UW fine and performing arts students. Student Art Innovation Lab, or S.A.I.L. is like an old-fashioned book mobile—traveling around Waterloo Region to deliver pop-up art labs to children and youth. Young artists learn valuable creative literacy skills while working with UW students and professional artists to create art.

S.A.I.L. instructors are responsible for planning, marketing and implementing all outreach activities related to S.A.I.L. This includes hands-on art activities developed for children and youth, mobile exhibitions, theatre performances, and/or hybrid art interventions targeted for the public. Art, theatre and/or teaching background, or related experience is preferred. This position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

For more information about the program please see the S.A.I.L. flyer (PDF).
