"The spirited Faculty of Arts community here at Waterloo is a cherished one, full of creativity, a deep appreciation for knowledge and problem solving, and a shared objective of making this world a better place for all. Our students are the cornerstone of this community, taking on leadership roles and supporting one another through academic and social networks.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Arts community and helping you meet your educational and vocational goals."

Arts First

If you’re in Honours Arts, Honours Arts and Business, Global Business and Digital Arts, or the Social Development Studies program at Renison University College, you’ll complete Arts First courses in your first year.

Instead of listening to a lecture and trying to capture notes, these classes will have you immersed in activities and exercises that require communication and problem solving. Imagine a classroom where you and your classmates work together to respond to a challenge posed by the instructor – that’s how you’ll experience Arts First!
