December Open House at The Games InstituteExport this event to calendar

Thursday, December 14, 2017 — 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM EST

The Games Institute invites all University of Waterloo staff and faculty members that are interested in learning more about The Games Institute, as well as games research to The Games Institute Open House on Thursday, December 14th!

This event is open to University of Waterloo staff and faculty members that have a research interest in games and games-related technology, interactions and implications, or that are interested in learning more about The Games Institute and its current initiatives. Come see our research facilities, learn about our work, and get to know the other grad students and faculty members involved in The Games Institute. Faculty members are encouraged to bring graduate students under their supervision that have games-related research interests.

SAVE THE DATE!
Spend the afternoon talking with people from the gaming community, as well as our own Games Institute members. Learn about First Person Scholar, IGDA, HCI Group and the other fun involvement opportunities that the GI has to offer. We'll be showcasing some of the GI research projects, playtesting some recently developed games, plus you can play some of your favourite video and board games here in the GI while we provide the refreshments.

You can RSVP for this event here. Please be aware that spaces are limited for this event.

*Please note that prior to this Open House, Ubisoft staff member Chelsea O'Hara will be delivering a talk in the Presentation Room on her experience working in video game development, how she made the transition to the games industry, as well as what her role is and how she interacts with other areas of the company.
