Every Thursday from 6pm-9pm, Proto/Play Night is your opportunity to hang out with local game developers in a more casual atmosphere. Show off your latest projects, give and receive valuable play-testing feedback from like-minded peers, learn new tools and techniques, discuss the state of the industry, and networking with potential collaborators.
Open to the public, Proto/Play Night takes place at The Games Institute at the University of Waterloo. The building is located at 175 Columbia Street West, otherwise known as EC-1 on the UW campus map.
In collaboration with the UW Game Dev Club, these weekly events are a fun way to connect with people in your community with similar games-related interests.
Proto/Play Nights also serve as an excellent way to prepare for The Games Institute's GI Jam events. If you plan on attending the GI Jam and want to bounce your design ideas off of other students, this is the place to do it! Come out to learn new tools and techniques that may help you in developing your game, connect with other event attendees, and discover projects that may have been completed in previous GI Jam events.
Since Proto/Play Nights happen after typical work hours, the front doors will be locked. Please make sure to use the rear entrance, closest the the GI main doors.
