GI COVID-19 Policy

While the University is in Phase 3 of re-opening, we are currently following the process below. For any questions please email pmschmid@uwaterloo.ca

Equipment Requests:

The default answer is no. Personal items cannot be approved as per Safety Office regulation. However, if supervisors deem necessary, certain items and equipment booking requests can be made for immediate research purposes. Personal items can only be retrieved if GI members are graduating and ending their GI residency.

Please submit a request using the following procedure:

  1. Students must discuss equipment needs with their supervisors who will deem if these items are essential to their research needs.
  2. Email pmschmid@uwaterloo.ca (students will need to cc their supervisors and Dr. Neil Randall) with all equipment needs to ensure availability of equipment/term of loan/etc. as per the usual practice.
  3. Once all the details are in place, pick-up/drop off of items will be arranged.
  4. Advance notice of at least 7 working days is needed to coordinate requests.

Please keep in mind that equipment is still a shared resource and we ask that it is cleaned and sanitized to ensure the health and safety in our community.
