Their primary area of interest involves re-application of design principals from one field to another, such as game design into pedagogy or literary theory into game design. Hobbies include spending time with friends, playing games, designing games and drawing.

"I'm researching the expressiveness of interactive systems. Specifically, I seek to highlight and improve the way systems (like games) convey emotion or narrative through their mechanics."

Magic: The Gathering and Gay Representation Through Play

"Magic: the Gathering [MtG] is a fun trading card game produced by Wizards of the Coast (WotC). Since its first publication in 1993, hundreds of new cards have been created each year, but it wasn’t until the fall of 2016 in a supplementary set that we saw a gay couple featured on one. This raises the obvious question: does this card actually do anything positive for the queer community?"
