Ethan Fischer is an undergraduate student in the psychology Department at the University of Waterloo. He is currently studying how gamers' verbal reports of their emotions during game play relates to various aspects of their subjective emotional experiences.
"For my Honours Thesis with Dr. Igor Grossmann, I am currently using a virtual reality environment to test a theory about the relationship between heart activity and the intensity of conscious stress experiences for different individuals. As an extension of this project, the data that I collect will also be used by Dr. Igor Grossmann, Dr. Pascal Poupart, and Dr. Michael Barnett-Cowan to investigate the nature between stress and motion sickness as well as to train an artificial intelligence algorithm to predict the intensity of conscious stress experiences based on heart physiology."
