The Games Institute acknowledges that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron (also known as Neutral), Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.
Giuseppe completed a BA (English, Rhetoric, Media, and Professional Communication & Honours Arts and Business) and an MA (Rhetoric and Communication Design) at the University of Waterloo. Now a PhD student, Giuseppe’s research in game studies, media studies, queer studies, and disability studies observes different types of gaming media and the appeal it has to its audience. He previously presented at the Transformative Play Initiative Seminar in Visby, Sweden, and is now partnering up with other scholars researching the intersection of disability studies and game studies to broaden the horizons of the growing field.
