The Games Institute acknowledges that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron (also known as Neutral), Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.

"Virtual reality (VR) With improved immersion, VR will be pervasive in many areas. In order to achieve better immersion, all the human senses should be engaged simultaneously. Computer graphics has achieved impressively high-resolution images which are indistinguishable from real objects. However, tangible objects cannot be computer generated or manipulated in real time with our current technology. For that reason, current consumer products only support vibrations, which limit the experience in virtual reality. In my research, I plan to incorporate haptic interaction into virtual reality, by building bridges between existing haptic solutions and fully integrated haptic interaction with VR system."
