The Games Institute acknowledges that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron (also known as Neutral), Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.
Taheera completed a BA Honours Arts, Rhetoric, Media, and Professional Communication Major, Music Minor at the University of Waterloo with Dean’s List acknowledgement. More recently, she completed her MA in Literary Studies, also at the University of Waterloo. Taheera first came to the GI as on a part-time assistant role Spring 2017, returned in Fall 2018 as the Operations Assistant, and is currently filling various shoes at the GI as an Arya Tektar. As well as working at the GI, Taheera has launched her own music studio, known as Mamujee Studios.
Taheera's academic passions include: British literature, with a lean toward J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis; music, anything from classical to the Beatles to Maori indigenous music; and history, from Roman times to present day. If asked, she can enter into a spirited discussion on any of these subjects for longer than desired. She also has many hobbies, from knitting to gardening, from cooking to small home renovations, some of which are on display on her lifestyle blog, A Slice of T.
