Discourses of Digital Games ShowcaseExport this event to calendar

Friday, April 10, 2015 — 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM EDT

As part of their final project, students in SPCOM 491 instructed by GI member Gerald Voorhees, have created their very own games!

On April 10th from 9AM-11:30AM join us in play-testing these creative board and digital games created by UW undergraduates here at The Games Institute.

The special topic for SPCOM 491 this term is "Discourse of Digital Games. This course examined how games are communicative, focusing on how they employ discursive techniques, knowingly and unknowingly, to entice us to play, to teach us to play, to keep us playing, and most importantly, to make claims about good and bad, right and wrong, and true and false.

In this final project showcase, students will be seeking feedback on the games they have created. We invite all faculty, students, friends and family to join us in this proto-play event to explore what these students have been working on all term!

Please REGISTER HERE to come play with us on April 10th!
