Audesse is an organization that empowers innovation through their hardware platform, allowing clients to build their own systems quickly and easily. They automate fleet vehicle operation and maintenance through active control and analytics, making their clients fleet more cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable.

In a short pitch, how would you describe Audesse's offerings (products and services)? What makes it innovative? What industry sectors and/or customers are you focused on?

We are an embedded controls and industry services company that offers our FlexSeries and tandem services. These products are well suited for many high-reliability controls and telematics projects across a wide range of industries. Deploy a ready-made product or build one yourself using our open technology platform.

Providing more detail, what is the value proposition of Audesse's offerings? Examples could include the underlying technology, new capabilities, cost reduction, risk reduction, improved performance, new business model, etc.

The FlexCase series is a novel embedded control device that combines the power of microcontroller and microprocessor co-processing to enable applications that were previously challenging to accomplish and had to be built from scratch. When the FlexCase paired with the ability to communicate over 4G/5G, the number of problems that can be solved with this technology significant.

From a cost perspective, our technology is as powerful as other rapid prototyping devices, which we make available to research labs at 10% of the price.

With our engineering services, we can combine any number of product ideas into reality when we pair it with our product lineup, delivering great value to our turnkey customers.

 What is Audesse's biggest achievement/success story to date?

We have some ambitious projects in the pipeline, but our biggest completed achievement to-date would be our deployments with Grand River Transit. We have a telematics and anti-idle device on 11 of their vehicles (mobility and conventional) and have even assisted with their COVID testing and vaccination buses. Our systems have already saved hundreds of litres of diesel fuel and reduced wear on the vehicles by tens of thousands of kilometres.

What does the future hold for Audesse?

We are going to continue selling hardware in addition to offering a turnkey, cloud-based telematics and control for platform for our transportation customers. We aim to provide full automotive-grade, over-the-air, retrofit and OEM machine control solutions.

What is Audesse's connection to the University of Waterloo?

We were founded out of the Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering Mechatronic Vehicle Systems Laboratory at the University.

Why did you decide to join the GEDI Exchange? What are you looking for? What do you want get out of it?

We joined to get the opportunity to network within the GEDI Exchange community. We want to meet companies that we can collaborate with. We are also interested in the University of Waterloo resources through the GEDI connection.
