TAMVOES Health Inc. (TAMVOES) is a health management platform that supports and stores the information of individuals, families and professional teams. TAMVOES is a women-led startup with the goal to empower individuals with their health information; giving them the ability to make more informed health care decisions. Their decision to join the GEDI Exchange reflects their desire to build strong connections within the GEDI Exchange network as well as to connect and collaborate with the local Waterloo community.

In a short pitch, how would you describe TAMVOES' offerings (products and services)? What makes it innovative? What industry sectors and/or customers are you focused on?

TAMVOES is revolutionizing the way people store, access, and share health information with their health providers, family, and caregivers.

There has always been a poor flow of information in the health industry due to the inefficiencies of data that are normally stored on paper in medical offices. The age old question in the industry is, who is responsible for storing your health information? Is it the responsibility of the patient or the medical professional?

TAMVOES has created a virtual hard drive to store and manage health documents that traditionally could not be transferred online due to security concerns. Our platform allows for seamless upload, storage, and sharing of these important documents for those managing their own or their dependent’s health, such as mothers and caregivers. The ability to securely access virtual records of health documents with the most up-to-date information – anywhere and any time - will allow users to make better-informed health decisions for themselves and the people they care for.

Providing more detail, what is the value proposition of TAMVOES' offerings? Examples could include the underlying technology, new capabilities, cost reduction, risk reduction, improved performance, new business model, etc.

After partnering with security industry leaders BlackBerry and MedStack for safety and security of the TAMVOES platform, we confidently ensure HIPPA and PHIPA Compliance. This allows for safe and secure communication, uploading and sharing documents with other professionals and people involved in their care team.

Having access to the correct and most up-to-date health documents on the TAMVOES platform allows individuals to be preventative instead of reactive with regards to their health. One way that TAMVOES has successfully done this is by implementing AI and machine learning algorithms to assist in detecting an emergency before it happens and further educating individuals about particular aspects of their health (e.g., a new diagnosis). Other features such as vitals tracking, appointment records and reminders, and a personal health record allow individuals to keep an eye on their health for the duration of their life.

The basic version of our client facing site is free to use. Anyone can register to begin creating an electronic record of their health history. Users can upgrade their basic account to a premium account to unlock unique features such as vital charting, unlimited dependents & journal entries, and many other features available to our users. As users begin to create a comprehensive electronic history of their health journey, there are massive time savings when advocating for yourself, loved ones, or dependents. TAMVOES puts time back in the hands of caregivers, individuals, professionals, and healthcare advocates.

What is TAMVOES' biggest achievement/success story to date?

TAMVOES has recently been accepted into the SOPHIE program through the Innovation Factory in Hamilton, Ontario. This program has helped to fund a development project that will allow for TAMVOES to integrate seamlessly into existing systems. We have been working diligently with our partners at Mohawk College, MEDIC, to build this new capability. This project will assist in quickly optimizing and improving the experience we provide to our users by bringing in data from multiple sources such as Apple Health, OHIP, and other health records systems. This development has also allowed us to involve young students and support the future of youth innovation.

What does the future hold for TAMVOES?

The future of health management starts with empowerment and education. This begins with the knowledge that your health is your responsibility. With the right tools and technology, TAMVOES looks forward to continuing to evolve the health experience for all individuals, not just those who are sick.

Within the next quarter, TAMVOES is releasing a mobile iOS application so that our users can manage their health from anywhere. We are also integrating with Apple Health which will bring in heart rate, blood pressure, exercise data, and more. We have recently partnered with DHA Labs to provide a safe and secure location to order your labs and have your results uploaded automatically into your TAMVOES account. We look forward to developing more integrations like these in the future and to further normalize storing and sharing of personal health information.

What is TAMVOES' connection to the University of Waterloo?

Our connection to the University of Waterloo started back in the Fall of 2019 where co-founder Madison McBay did her second co-op work term just 4 months after the company's incorporation. Madison is now in her 4th year of Health Studies specializing in Health Informatics at the University of Waterloo.

In addition to this, since 2019 TAMVOES has consistently hired co-op students across many different programs and Faculties from UWaterloo and hired on graduate students as full-time employees. The innovation, commitment, and drive of these students has built the TAMVOES platform from the ground up. We are pleased to continue this relationship into the future and appreciate the ongoing talent that contributes to the company’s growth.
