DESCRIPTION:We are inviting University of Waterloo faculty\, staff\, and\ns
 tudents to join us at _The Urgency of Social Justice_ event\nbetween 1
 1:00 AM AND 2:00 PM onSeptember 20\, 2023\, in and around the\nArts Quad.
  The purpose of the event is to build awareness and broader\nsupport for s
 ocial justice activities\, programs\, services\, and\nadvocacy groups at 
 UWaterloo and in the local community. The event\nwill kick off a year-lon
 g series of activities hosted by the Gender\nand Social Justice (GSJ) prog
 ram. While centred in Arts\, we are\nexcited to broaden and deepen the con
 versation about social justice in\nour campus community and are inviting p
 articipation from across\nUWaterloo and from regional advocacy and support
  groups. The event is\nbeing organized by a group of colleagues\, includin
 g staff\, faculty\,\nand students\, with leadership from GSJ.    \n\nT
 he event will include short speeches or performances by colleagues\nand ad
 vocates\, poster displays\, tables for on-campus services\,\ncommunity gro
 ups\, and academic programs\, music\, entertainment\, and\nrefreshments.
