DESCRIPTION:TOPIC: Exploring Amplification Pathways of Nature-Based Climat

 ly central sites of climate action\, amid\ncompounding biodiversity and ec
 onomic crises. Yet efforts to transform\nurban systems remain constrained 
 by path dependency\, indeterminacy\,\nand shifting priorities. Nature-base
 d climate solutions (NBCS) have\ngained prominence for their capacity to 
 “multi-solve” by\nmitigating emissions\, addressing climate risks\, en
 hancing\nbiodiversity\, and delivering social–ecological co-benefits. De
 spite\nthis promise\, urban NBCS in Canada often remain confined to\nsmall
 -scale pilots and disconnected demonstration projects\, limiting\ntheir tr
 ansformative potential.\n\nThis research examines how NBCS can move beyond
  pilots to be amplified\nwithin broader systems of urban governance and tr
 ansformation. Drawing\non 20 semi-structured interviews with NBCS practiti
 oners and\ngovernance experts alongside planning and policy documents in\n
 comparative case study of Vancouver\, BC and Halifax\, NS\, this study\nma
 ps distinct but interrelated pathways of amplification along with\nthe act
 ors\, enabling conditions\, and catalysts shaping the growth of\nNBCS init
 iatives. Particular attention is given to how institutional\nand organizat
 ional contexts influence the stability\, diversity\, and\nprioritization o
 f co-benefits. The findings inform efforts to design\,\ngovern\, grow and 
 sustain NBCS in support of just\, low-carbon and\nresilient urban futures.
