Milad Mosharafi

PhD candidate, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering

I am doing my Ph.D. with Professor Maurice Dusseault in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. A new non-destructive testing method based on applying the passive magnetic inspection was recently developed successfully for investigating the condition of reinforcing rebar. My research area is the continuation of the development of scanning devices and analysis software to an industrial level. In this research project, the scanning prototype design will be enhanced and modified to meet particular applications under different environmental conditions and physical applications in the field.

Ali Ghavidel

Ph.D. candidate

I have earned my master’s degree in Rock Mechanics Engineering at the University of Tehran, and specialized in Geomechanics field. My master’s dissertation was conducted on caprock integrity under supervision of Prof. Hossein Memarian and Prof. Mahdi Moosavi. I studied geomechanical behavior of Gachsaran Formation as the most challengeable evaporating caprock for majority of Iranian oil reservoir, which is included both laboratory tests and numerical modeling.
