PhD Student Ben Kim
Ben Kim completed his PhD in August, 2020. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies and Gerontology from the same department in 2011. He received his Masters in Health Informatics from the University of Toronto.

Previously, he had worked in the home and community health care field in Ontario as a health informatician, overseeing IT/HI projects including customer relationship management implementation, smartphone based electronic health record implementation, and business process improvement initiatives.

Ben’s current research interests surround mobile health interventions, smart wearables, consumer and public health informatics, human computer interaction, and user interface and usability evaluation. His current research investigates ways of leveraging emerging technology for the health of older adults and gerontological research.
