Katelyn completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Studies at the University of Waterloo in 2013. During her undergraduate degree, she worked as a co-op student at numerous research and practice-oriented settings, including the GHS Research Group, from May 2011-August 2011, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Stolee.
Katelyn is continuing her studies at the University of Waterloo as a PhD student in the School of Public Health & Health Systems under the supervision of Dr. Scott Leatherdale. Her research focuses on how the school context (i.e., school-based programs, policies, and facilities) influence youth's health behaviours and outcomes, specifically within the realm of healthy eating and obesity. Outside of her research, Katelyn enjoys traveling, rock climbing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
