Research Assistant

Miranda McDermottMiranda McDermott is a Health Studies student with a specialization in pre health professions and a minor in Gerontology. She has been working for Professor Stolee and the Geriatric Health Systems Research group since August 2014, switching between full-time co-op terms and part time during school terms. She has had previous co-op jobs as a Genetic Counsellor's Assistant at Princess Margaret Hospital and as a Medical Oncology Research Student at the BC Cancer Agency. In her free time she volunteers with the Hospital Elder Life Program at Grand River Hospital where she works with adults over the age of 75 to prevent delirium. She has been involved with a variety programs on campus, including orientation week, WELL-FIT, Let's Talk Science, and the Brain and Body Lab. Miranda also enjoys running and playing a variety of intramural sports.
