Sarah is a strong believer in increasing engagement by individuals within their own health care – putting the patient back into patient centered care. She has just completed her 2A term in Health Studies and is very excited to apply what she has learned to the growing field of gerontology. Previously, Sarah worked for the University of Waterloo as a Supported Learning Group leader for Cell Biology, where she developed and ran regular sessions engaging first-year students to take an active role in their learning. Having recently returned from a volunteer placement in Iceland at a rehabilitation clinic focused on holistic healing, she now uses her skills as a member of the Board of Directors for the Wish Youth Network Society (WYNS), a group dedicated to helping support local children with severe medical conditions.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading and archery.
