Valerie MacDonald is the clinical nurse specialist for ten Orthopaedic and Surgical sites in the Fraser Health Authority, British Columbia. She works with teams to develop, implement and evaluate programs of care for orthopaedic and surgical populations. Research interests include clinical interventions and patient outcomes. Valerie is president elect of the Canadian Orthopaedic Nurses Association and is on the board of the International Journal of Orthopaedic Nursing. She has an RN diploma from the Victoria General in Halifax and a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Nursing from UBC. She is married with three kids, all in university. Hiking, skiing, travel, and Yoga are keen pursuits.
