50th Anniversary Kick-Off Celebration
2022 marks the 50th anniversary of our department's cooperation with the German department at the Universität Mannheim, and the 10th anniversary of the Waterloo/Mannheim Joint MA in Intercultural German Studies.
To celebrate these wonderful milestones, the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies is hosting a beginning of term party. On Monday, 19 September 2022, two esteemed colleagues from Universität Mannheim - Prof. Dr. Astrid Lembke and Prof. Dr. Thomas Wortmann - will be visiting campus. They'll each hold a short research presentation followed by a Q&A, and following that there will be a reception in the University of Waterloo catering department's new party tent. You're welcome to attend the talks, the reception, or both!

Where: Westmount Room, Federation Hall
When: Monday Sept. 19, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Reception
Where: Catering tent (next to Federation Hall)
When: Monday Sept. 19, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm, with brief remarks at 5:00 pm
A selection of hors d'oeuvres and finger foods will be served. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase (credit or debit only).
Visitor parking is available in Lot M across the street from Federation Hall ($6 fee, payable by credit card) and in N Lot next to Federation Hall ($5 fee, payable by credit card, open for visitor parking after 3:45pm).
