Woman holding coffee cup and saucerJoin the students of GER 250/350 as they present two short theatre pieces:

Azmeras Entdeckung tells the comedic tale about the legendary Ethiopian goatherd Kaldi, his “entirely fictional” goat, Azmera, and how they discovered the miraculous powers of coffee 850 years ago.

Fantasie über J.S. Bachs Kaffeekantate is the story of Lieschen, an adolescent girl whose love for coffee is so strong, her father promises to find her a husband if she gives it up. Can she  outsmart her father? Can she truly have her beloved java and a beloved man at the same time?

The performances are in German.
