Film screening: Our Daily Bread

For her VCULT course "World Cinema and Visual Culture", Professor Alice Kuzniar is hosting weekly film screenings. Everyone is welcome to join!

This week's screening is the Austrian documentary movie Our Daily Bread (Unser täglich Brot) from 2005. The movie shows modern food production companies and the technology they use for the mass production of food in actual working situations without narration. The main focus lies on the treatment of the animals and the use of pesticides in agriculture. The movie won several prizes, like the Adolf-Grimme-prize 2008 and the EcoCamera award in Montréal in 2006. Watch the trailer below.
