More About the Graduate House
We are a popular lunch and dinner destination for casual home-style dining. Whenever possible, we prefer to use fresh, local ingredients and support local businesses.
We use grass fed, drug free Black Angus beef supplied by our local farmers, Mark and Cindy Gerber at Oakridge Acres Farm.
We use halal chicken that is prepared in the traditional method (by hand) and supplied by Sargent Farms in Milton.
Norris Bakery in Kitchener delivers our breads and bakery items daily.
We are sensitive to the dietary needs of our members and will try to accommodate your requests.
We are committed to minimizing our impact on the environment and participate in the "green bin" program for organics waste. We encourage our patrons to support our efforts in this program.
We operate an open concept kitchen, in full compliance with regional board of health standards.
Our coffeee/tea and morning service is run on an honour system at a suggested price of $1.00 per item. We feature organic and fairly traded coffee and a variety of teas. Patrons may use our cups or bring their own.
The Graduate Student Association is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and abides by the regulations of Ontario's Liquor Licence Act.
We are recognized by the Ontario Craft Brewers Association for our commitment to microbrewery culture. We feature fourteen taps of local craft-brewed draught beer, cider, and a hand-picked selection of wines. We offer an array of popular spirits and we've become known for our selection of single malt scotches and grad-friendly prices. We offer a vast assortment of fresh tasting juices and soft drinks, and promote healthy, responsible attitudes toward alcohol consumption. All Graduate House staff are "Smart Serve" trained and we are committed to the welfare of our members and the stewardship of the liquor licence held by the Graduate Student Association.
Booking Graduate House
Graduate students may reserve space for social events and meetings as a perk of membership. Others can request a booking/rental by contacting the Manager. The Boardroom, the Upper Lounge may be reserved/rented.
