The University of Waterloo is hosting the Excellence and Quality of Academic Life in STEM (EQUALS) Conference this May 11-12, 2017 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
EQUALS is a venue for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and young scholars considering an academic career in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field. The purpose of this conference is to explore the spectrum of pathways of academic success in STEM with an explicit focus on gender equity and its intersections with other identity markers.

The Centre for Career Action is currently hiring undergraduate and graduate students for the spring term to support our busy career centre through advising students one-on-one on topics such as resumes, cover letters and interview skills. You will use a combination of training and personal experience to provide students with strategies, information, and resources to help them through their work search process. This role may also involve promoting Centre for Career Action services, customer service and other related activities from time to time.
Symposium on Aging Research (SoAR)
With a focus on aging research, Symposium on Aging Research (SoAR) is a one-day meeting for engaging with graduate student research beyond disciplinary and professional boundaries, and across areas of expertise. SoAR encourages graduate students from any discipline to present, dialogue, and learn about current research on processes, experiences, and systems related to aging. The interdisciplinary SoAR is an opportunity for graduate students to network across disciplines and professions, initiate trans-departmental collaborations, and engage in integrative conversations on aging research.
