Allison Sachs

Director (Chair of Board)

Portrait of Allison Sachs.Allison Sachs is a masters student whose vision for the future of the University of Waterloo is one of greater respect for those whose transience makes them vulnerable, particularly graduate students and post docs. They stand in solidarity with marginalized groups, and in that vein, their primary objective in being active in the university community is to break down the social and institutional structures that unfairly distribute resources.

To access the tools to achieve the goals of mutual respect between the university administration and graduate students, Allison sits on the GSA-UW Council as the representative for the Department of Physics and Astronomy and plays a leadership role in the Physics GSA. Furthermore, they’re on the Equity and Inclusion Committee for the Institute for Quantum Computing and are a proud member of the LGBTQ community. They go by Al, Allison or Aly and are currently fine with either female or gender neutral pronouns.
