Matt Morison

Portrait of Matthew Morison.I’m a 4th year PhD student in Geography within the Faculty of Environment. I have a long history of involvement with student advocacy and implementing progressive student policy from my undergraduate involvement in the University of Winnipeg Student Union and continuing with the Environment Graduate Students Association here at Waterloo.

In these roles I have experience with driving successful campus-wide campaigns which have improved quality of student life and increased community outreach, including a full ban of bottled water on campus at the University of Winnipeg and the establishment of a permanent trust to sustain an Eco-Grant for community-campus partnerships through sustainable building projects. I look forward to continuing this work serving on the Waterloo Graduate Student Association Board of Directors for a one-year term, ending April 2018. I will strive to ensure equitable and progressive practice in my directorship while remaining accountable to membership at all times.
