Portrait of Robert Bruce, GSA President.Having completed his Master of Arts in Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, Robert has come to the University of Waterloo to pursue a Master of Environmental Studies in the School of Planning. Robert’s research is focused on small-town heritage-scape identity, where he is working to conceptualize the relationship between municipal public policy and the evolving functionality of individual buildings, historic streetscapes and a public image.

Robert has a long history of involvement with Student Government and brings extensive knowledge and experience to the position of President with the University of Waterloo Graduate Student Association. Robert’s professional experience includes five years working for non-profit organizations, which includes his time serving as the Director of Arts on the Wilfrid Laurier University Graduate Student Association, his term as President and Chief Executive Officer with the Wilfrid Laurier University Graduate Student Association, and his term as Vice-President with the Ontario Graduate Student Alliance.
