Giving quality feedback, CTE1106 (Fall 2019)

Academic work is constantly under review as instructors assess students' papers, supervisors guide students on theses, or students evaluate instructors teaching, only to name a few examples. In all of these cases, evaluative information is being given to one person by another as feedback has occurred. But was it helpful? Was it assimilated? Will it make a difference in the future?

In this workshop, we will explore how to become better recipients and givers of feedback in the academic setting. We will discuss relevant concepts regarding feedback, then demonstrate strategies and provide tips to help achieve effective feedback communication. You will also have an opportunity to evaluate and discuss sample feedback practices through group work activities.

Registration: Registration is required. Registration will open mid-September.
