Tuesday, April 28, 2020 — 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM EDT

Join us for this workshop on predatory publishing as part of this year's online open bookGRADnavigate series.

How do you choose a quality journal? What are predatory journals? How do I avoid publishing in a predatory journal? If you are curious about answers to these questions, this workshop is for you.

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Understand what makes a journal predatory
  • Have tips and tricks to use to identify quality and predatory journals
  • Know who to reach out to for help

This is a virtual workshop, and all participants will be emailed a link to access the session 24 hours prior to the event.

This workshop is being facilitated by Lauren Byl from the UWaterloo Library.

Please note: audio is required for this session. Microphones and video would be an asset.

This workshop is part of GRADnavigate, a week-long series of workshops designed to provide tailored support to graduate students at key points in their degree. Explore all of the 2020 GRADnavigate workshops on the Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs event page.
