  1. May 17, 2018National Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition launches: Vote for Waterloo's Gregory LuiGregory Lui

    The regional competitions of Canada’s 3MT are complete, and the 11 finalists have been chosen, including Gregory Lui, a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering from right here at the University of Waterloo!

    As of May 22, the 11 videos of the finalists’ presentations will be live on the CAGS 3MT page. This kicks off the final round of the search for the winner of Canada’s 3MT national competition.

    Each year, the Centre for Teaching Excellence and Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs recognize and celebrate the teaching development efforts of a Waterloo graduate student with the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) Award.

    Caitlin Scott, from the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability is the 2018 award recipient.

  3. Apr. 26, 2018The Lake Shift writing retreatLake shift

    The Lake Shift is a thesis writing retreat for doctoral students from Ontario universities, held at Queen’s Biology Station on Lake Opinicon (a 50 minute drive north of Kingston). The retreat takes place between Sunday, July 15 and Friday, July 20, 2018.

    The retreat provides graduate students with structured time to write, workshops on tips for effective dissertation writing, opportunities to network with other graduate students and all in a beautiful location.
