Award description: 

An award, valued at approximately $1,500 will be awarded annually to a full-time graduate student registered in the Master’s of Accounting (MAcc) program in the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) in the Faculty of Arts. To be considered, students must complete an application form including a statement demonstrating an interest in pursuing a career in public accounting (specifically in the area of assurance and/or accounting) and demonstrate their involvement in extracurricular activities. Recipients are selected annually in March by the School of Accounting and Finance.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 
  • Full-time graduate students registered in the MAcc program in the SAF in the Faculty of Arts
  • Strong preference will be given to a student interested in pursuing a career in public practice in the area of assurance and/or accounting and who is registered in the MAcc equivalents of the CPA Professional Education Program Assurance and Tax Electives (ACC 650 and ACC 607 respectively at the time of writing).
  • Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate extracurricular involvement such as volunteer activities and/or sports

In addition to the application, include a cover letter outlining why the student feels they are a candidate for the scholarship, extracurricular involvement, and interest in a career in public accounting (specifically in the assurance and/or accounting area); a resume; and a copy of a recent grade report.
