The interest from this fund will be used to support graduate scholarships. The departments will select finalists by August 31, and the scholarships will normally be awarded at the beginning of the Fall term. These scholarships will be awarded to high quality graduate students at the Master's or Doctoral levels. Students supported from this fund must be enrolled full time in the graduate program, must be within their allowable time limits, and must not be supported by a major external scholarship such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) or Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Number of awards and amounts may vary from year to year.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
