First GRADtalks event of 2018: Speakers present to a full house

On Thursday, April 12, our first GRADtalks event of 2018 took place in the Board and Senate Room with opening remarks made by Jeff Casello, Associate Vice-President, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs .

Our speakers for the evening included:

  • Marcela Bomfin, PhD Candidate, Public Health and Health Systems, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. Marcela talked about gameful design methods and strategies to improve food literacy among students.
  • Rina R. Wehbe, PhD Candidate, Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics. Rina shared her research on the effects of gamification and Games4Change on behavior and motivation.

GRADtalks is a series of research talks featuring two University of Waterloo doctoral students, speaking about a common theme from their research perspectives – highlighting t he remarkable work done by Waterloo graduate students.
