Why we are

The Spirit Sings by Conrad Grebel Chapel ChoirWe exist for the primary cause of participating in worship services at Conrad Grebel University College, weekly on Wednesday afternoons. We believe that music has the ability to express realities which reach beyond normal language, and can serve as a direct expression of the soul. Music can enhance our worship and become an important approach to God.

One way in which we have shared this commitment is through recordings: When in our music God is glorified, (1995), How can I keep from singing (1997),  Touched by Grace (2000), Mysterium (2002), Then and Now (2005), The Spirit Sings (2009).

Who we are

We are a group of university students who love singing as a form of worship. We come mainly from the community of students at Conrad Grebel University College, but also include other students interested in music in worship. We study a wide range of subjects at the University of Waterloo, and are a representative picture of the energetic and stimulating mix of people who form the student community at Conrad Grebel University College.

Chapel Choir schedule

The Chapel Choir performs in the Conrad Grebel chapel services on alternate Wednesdays, beginning at 4:30 pm.  Additionally, the choir performs at local churches and other area venues.

The Florence Weber Fund

Florence Almeda Weber of Waterloo, a woman with a lifelong commitment to the education of children and young people in the province of Ontario, willed a substantial portion of her estate to Conrad Grebel University College.

The college, upon receipt of Florence Weber's bequest in the fall of 1995, designated her gift for the Chapel Choir's annual touring program, which includes a number of churches within Mennonite Church Eastern Canada.

Since the college established the Florence Weber Chapel Choir Fund, other donors have also contributed to the endowment established in Florence's name. The college welcomes gifts from those who wish to continue to build the fund and ensure that the Chapel Choir continues to visit our churches. If you share Florence's dream, please designate your gift to Conrad Grebel University College for the "Florence Weber Fund."
