In 2015, Grebel again had two Reading Week trip options:

"In My Backyard" - K-W:

A group of Grebel students camped out at Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church in Kitchener and spent part of Reading Week learning about poverty and homelessness in Waterloo Region. The week included sessions on topics such as economics and a living wage, affordable housing policy, and listening to individual stories. The group joined Circle of Friends for an event, played bingo at the YWCA, and provided a meal at Ray of Hope. It was a rich week of learning and relationship building!

Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS):

This year's MDS trip was to Far Rockaway, NYC. In the borough of Queens, this area of New York was still in need of repairs and rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy. Many homeowners have been waiting for over two years to be able to live in their home again. Students worked hard at home repair and also enjoyed a little tourism time in the Big Apple.
