You may apply for any, or all, of three terms: Fall 2017, Winter 2018, and/or Spring 2018.
In the top right-hand corner of your application, indicate the term(s) for which you would like to be considered.
Applications will be received until Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
How to apply
Prepare a one page letter of application that speaks to the following:
- Why you are interested in being a Don
- Three strengths you bring to the role
- Two things that will be particularly challenging for you in the role
- Dons are role models– both before and while donning. They are students who embody the mission of the College and adhere to the guidelines for community living as laid out in the handbook. Discuss how you have you been, to date, an exemplary role model in the community.
In addition to your letter of application, you will need a letter of reference. The referee should be a resident or associate of the College who understands the role of the Don and knows you well enough to comment on your suitability for the role. Unfortunately, current Dons and/or the Student Council President cannot act as referees. The referee needs to address specific questions. These questions can be found in the Don Reference Form (PDF).
Reference letters should be directed confidentially to the Director of Student Services by the above mentioned deadline.
The Don Selection Committee usually includes two Dons, the Student Council President, one of the Campus Hosts and the Director of Student Services. Interviews will take place shortly after the application deadline. Not all applicants will proceed to the interview stage. If it is impossible for work-term applicants to return to the College for a personal interview, a phone interview will be arranged.
Any questions may be addressed to one of the current Dons or Campus Hosts. We look forward to receiving your application.
