This concert includes the World Premiere of a new setting of Psalm 150, composed by Timothy Corlis, that has been commissioned by Conrad Grebel University College in honour of its 50th Anniversary. Corlis is a former Grebel resident and a well-known composer working at CMU in Winnipeg.
As part of this special occasion, all three Grebel Choirs will perform:

John Ruth is an author and travel guide, a renowned Anabaptist-Mennonite story-teller.
He will be at Grebel the previous night for the release of his memoir, Branch: A Memoir with Pictures.

In small coffee-style, each of the 210 two-page spreads opens to a mini-essay paired with a full-page picture. Ruth chose this format "to explore synergy between a lifetime's collection of pictures and the works they may call forth." Come to the College Chapel and hear this extraordinary story-teller talk about his memoirs.
Featuring the Music Department Gamelan Ensemble, as well as Balinese guest artist I Dewa Made Suparta. Ensemble directed by Maisie Sum.

Come to Ottawa's Canadian War Museum and take a look at "Peace - the Exhibition" and enjoy a talk about the exhibit from MCC Ottawa's Paul Heidebrecht while indulging in some complimentary refreshments.

In celebration of Grebel’s 50 years of Inspiring Mind and Spirit, the Grebel Ambassadors are hosting a Conrad Grebel (the person) themed event! If you have participated in any of the 50th Anniversary events thus far you might have noticed the life sized cardboard cut-out of Conrad Grebel. He has been making special appearances all over campus (!) and will be the focus for this event. Intrigued? Me too!

The Institute for Worship and the Arts of Conrad Grebel University College presents a morning with John Bell of the Iona Community. John will present a workshop called “Doing Worship Differently: renewing congregational worship at the grass-roots level” on Saturday, October 5 in the CGUC Chapel.
