DESCRIPTION:BALINESE GAMELAN CONCERT\n\nPlease join us for the end of term 
 concert at Knox Presbyterian Church\non Friday\, November 25 at 7:30pm.  
 Gamelan ensembles are primarily\npercussive instruments made of bronze an
 d bamboo  but  may include\ndrums\, flutes\, strings\, and voice. An or
 al tradition taught and\nlearned collectively\, repertoire is transmitted
  in a group setting\nwithout the use of sheet music. Directed by Balinese 
 artist I Dewa\nMade Suparta [https://uwaterloo.ca/music/profiles/i-dewa-m
 ade-suparta]\nsince 2014\, the students experience a communal process of 
 creating\nmusic while also learning about the culture of Bali.
