Contactless Pickup at the Milton Good Library

About this service

  • This page describes only the pickup services of the Milton Good Library. For services at other University of Waterloo libraries, see the University of Waterloo Library website.
  • Milton Good Library pickup service is open to all patrons with an active library account.
  • Once you have placed your order, you should receive an automatic email confirming your submission. You will receive a subsequent email when your items are ready.
  • You may pick up your items during libary open hours. Enter through the main entrance to the Conrad Grebel Academic Building. Note that masks are required in all University of Waterloo public spaces. You will be met at the reception desk, have your temperature taken, be asked to sign in, and be asked if you have completed a health self-assessment, such as this one from Ontario Health. You may then proceed by stairs or elevator to the library.
  • Your books, which have been signed out to you, will be available near the library door.
  • You may designate someone else to pick up your items. Please do this on your order form.
  • Your items will be held for 7 days. Please contact us if you no longer need these items or if you need this time extended.
  • Items requested must be books or periodical volumes physically in the Milton Good Library; this is not a recall or scanning service. New periodical issues are not loanable, nor browsable in the library.
  • In response to COVID-19, HathiTrust Digital Library has made over 830,000 in-copyright items from the University of Waterloo Library's print collection available online. As part of this agreement, we cannot loan these items in print for the duration of the agreement. To see how these items are identified in the library catalogue, see the "instructions" section below.
  • There is no holds pickup service for items from other libraries.
  • Books may be returned to us or to these book bins.
  • Please contact us with your questions and suggestions. This is an evolving service and your feedback is appreciated.

Instructions for listing items on the form

  1. In the library catalogue, items you request must be physically located in the “Conrad Grebel University College - Milton Good Library.”
  2. Cut and paste the item’s permalink (found under the “send to” section of the item record).
  3. If you are requesting a periodical volume, please note the volume number in the comments section on the form.
