Here is what you need to know. Please read carefully!

About this service

  • This page describes only the pickup services of the Milton Good Library. For services at other University of Waterloo libraries, see the University of Waterloo Library website.
  • Milton Good Library pickup service is open to all University of Waterloo faculty and students. At this time, we are not able to extend this service to staff, community borrowers or members of other university communities.
  • Orders must be placed by Wednesdays at 4:30pm. Orders are processed once a week on Thursday mornings.
  • Once you have placed your order, you should receive an automatic email confirming your submission. Library staff may contact you via the email address you provide on your form if we have questions about your order. You will receive a subsequent email when your items are ready.
  • Faculty with mailroom keys may pick up their items in the mailroom when they are ready. Please observe all protocols that Conrad Grebel places on building entry.
  • Other faculty and students will be able to pick up their items on Thursdays, from 12pm-1pm only, outside the main entrance to the academic building at Conrad Grebel University College. When you arrive, please do not attempt to enter the building. Follow the signage, practice physical distancing, and wait for library staff.
  • You may designate someone else to pick up your items. Please do this on your order form.
  • If your items are not picked up by 1pm, they will be held for you for one more week only for pickup at the same time and place. Please contact us if you no longer need these items.
  • Items requested must be books or periodical volumes physically in the Milton Good Library; this is not a recall or scanning service.
  • There is no holds pickup service for items from other libraries
  • There is a limit of ten items per person per week
  • Returns will be accepted on Thursdays from 12pm-1pm beginning July 16. This is for Milton Good Library items only; returns from other libraries will not be accepted.
  • Safety of employees and students will continue to be a priority, and thus this service is subject to change
  • Please contact us with your questions and suggestions. This is an evolving service and your feedback is appreciated.

Instructions for listing items on the form

  1. In the library catalogue, items you request must be physically located in the “Conrad Grebel University College - Milton Good Library.”
  2. Cut and paste the item’s permalink (found under the “send to” section of the item record).
  3. If you are requesting a periodical volume, please note the volume number in the comments section on the form.
