School of Accounting and Finance

Introduction

About the School of Accounting and Finance

The School of Accounting and Finance offers postgraduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Accounting (MAcc and MAcc - Finance ), Master of Taxation (MTax) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The School of Accounting and Finance offers three distinct programs of study at the Master's level, two of which must be pursued with full-time attendance. The Master of Accounting (MAcc) is a two-term program designed for persons who wish to become professional accountants. The Master of Accounting (Finance) (MAcc (Finance) is a collaborative four-term program (which includes a work term with an industrial partner) designed for persons who wish to pursue a career in the financial community. The Master of Taxation (MTax) program is offered on a full-time and a half-time (part-time) basis for students who want to specialize in taxation.

In addition to our regular degree programs, the School of Accounting and Finance also offers two Type 3 Graduate Diploma programs: the Diploma in Business Information Technology and the Diploma in Information System Assurance. These programs provide an efficient route for students interested in the IT specialties to obtain an accreditation in a specialty area.

These programs are described in further detail in the Programs section.
