Fitness apps that emphasize illness- or death-related messaging are more likely to be effective in motivating participation than are social stigma, obesity or financial cost messaging, according to a recent study.
UW WELL-FIT is a suite of evidence-based exercise programs for individuals who are currently or have previously undergone cancer treatment. Run out of the Centre for Community, Clinical and Applied Research Excellence (CCCARE), these programs have helped more than 2,000 individuals with cancer maintain their muscle health and improve their well-being since they began operating in 2002.
