Lindsey Oretan

Lindsey has been a Recreation Therapist for the past thirteen years, with the last being in her current role at Grand River Hospital; Freeport Campus in the Specialized Mental Health Program.  Through Recreation Therapy she is able to support individuals who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.  Her favourite aspect of the role involves connecting people to recreation programs that are in their community. 

For the last two years Lindsey was a Board Member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO), remains a volunteer with the Professional Registration Committee within TRO, has been published in the TRPR Journal, is registered with TRO (R/TRO), as well as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).  Lindsey hopes to share ways in which students can maintain and grow their connection to the field of Recreation Therapy.
