As part of the Wellness Collaborative, a Community of Practice (CoP) of individuals across campus who support wellness in their respective roles is coming together for an inaugural meeting on June 7th. This meeting is an important step forward in our wellness journey, as the CoP fulfills an unmet need for joint learning and coordination.
The CoP will provide the mechanism to understand how each of us contribute to a culture of wellness in our respective roles, learn from our successes and challenges, leverage each other’s strengths, and better coordinate our efforts for comprehensive health promotion.
The Community of Practice is open to all members of our campus community who have wellness embedded within their roles. If this CoP is relevant to you, please reach out to Melissa Potwarka to learn more about how you can get involved.
We look forward to sharing exciting updates from the CoP with the broader UWaterloo community.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
