HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10
President Hamdullahpur accepted an invitation from the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign for the University of Waterloo to participate in their IMPACT 10x10x10 framework alongside governments, leading universities, and global businesses.
How are we doing?
Waterloo committed to increase the number of girls and women in our STEM outreach experiences and activities to 33 per cent by 2020.
We exceeded our goal and reached 34% in 2019.

The University of Waterloo was the first stop on the Canadian University HeForShe #GetFree Tour hosted by the UN Women. On September 16, 2019 the campus community gathered for a campus rally and high impact lecture featuring special guests to discuss future-oriented, local and global social justice perspectives related to youth engagement, sexual violence, pay equity and overall gender equality.
The HeForShe Champions initiative is a unique ecosystem that engages world leaders, global CEOs and university presidents to address some of today’s most pressing gender issues. Each Champion has made three specific, measurable and transformative commitments towards achieving gender equality.
