December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada. This year will mark the 27th anniversary of the tragic events that took place in 1989 at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.
Students, faculty, staff and community leaders will come together to reflect and commemorate the 14 young women whose lives were taken, and to continue the pursuit of justice, equity and opportunity for all.
PhysiXX is a day of exploration and investigation to celebrate girls’ interest in the physical sciences. The Department of Physics and Astronomy, as part of the HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 campaign , will host 100 students in Grades 7 and 8 for hands-on activity workshops, inspiring talks, and a panel discussion, to encourage and engage girls to explore physics.
