Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo, was at the United Nations with nine other university presidents to unveil the first-ever HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 University Parity Report. The report highlights the participating universities’ successes and ambitions for gender equity on their campuses.

United Nations Under-Secretary-General Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the executive director of UN Women joined campus and community partners to celebrate the first anniversary of the University of Waterloo’s involvement in the United Nation Women’s HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative.
Working in partnership with the Aboriginal Centre and the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Waterloo will host a three-night camp called IMPACT Girls Summer Camp for ten Indigenous girls and their caregivers in August 2016. The camp will combine workshops based in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with aboriginal cultural practices and methodologies.
